Senior Go (Golang) Developer

VatnFörn is building the future of DeFi and seeking to revolutionize how cryptocurrencies are traded and users can put their assets to work. We are looking for an experienced Go (Golang) developer to help us build some of the critical off-chain components of our systems. No previous experience in blockchain or decentralized finance is required.

This is a fully remote position, but to facilitate easier collaboration with the rest of the team, we prefer candidates in time zones spanning European time and US Pacific time.

Responsibilities:

• Develop high quality, scalable, and secure tools

• Write clean, maintainable code

• Mature and automate existing code/processes

• Develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs

• Develop event-based services

• Develop secure client-side CLI applications

• Work collaboratively with the team to design and build new capabilities

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience developing and writing unit tests with Go

• Experience with processing unstructured data or directly interfacing with operating system APIs

• Experience with distributed, event driven platforms

• Experience working with network and cloud based tools

• Experience working on an Agile team

• Experience with using and implementing APIs

• Strong familiarity with Linux operating system

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (additional relevant experience will be accepted as a substitute)

Bonus Points:

• Building tools using containers or serverless technologies

• Developing in C or C++

• Experience with JSON, XML and/or similar data constructs

• Experience with Docker or other container based virtualization

• Experience with Tendermint

• Experience with Jira, or similar bug tracking/agile project management tools

• Advanced Degree in Computer Science or related field
